Ok, so ya'll know I recently bought a cheap granny bike. The purpose of said bike was really just to test myself and see if I could ride a bike with my back and neck issues (degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, cervical stenosis... etc.). Riding my mountain bike or ten-speed did cause some pain, especially in my neck as bending my neck upwards from a crouching position just does not work for me. So leaning over handlebars and looking forward,... just... no! My back also could not be bent like that. So I got the step-through, high rise and pulled back handlebars, cheap Huffy. I've had it for almost a month now, and have been so happy since I've had it. It was my enthusiasm for getting to riding again that has spurred this blog and upcoming videos. I've been out of biking for almost 20 years and am, literally, back in the saddle. And it's great! But... a fixed gear one speed cruiser is only going to get me so far. It's nice on the flats - real nice! And I ride it up ascenting grades, but I really don't think it can get me "around town", so to say. I live in a limited area where anywhere I go outside of this area, is downhill. That means a long lug uphill.

So.... I've grown attached to my little Huffy bike, but I kept eyeing this Schwinn. Ok, ok, Schwinn has been sold SEVERAL times and is NOT the company that it once was... has been churning out cheap "Huffy"-type bikes... but... I just can't get over... the name... It's also a 7 speed... and just has that cool classic look. Retro, man, retro! So I shilled out a few $, It's twice the cost of the Huffy, and, yeah, Schwinn it is. I'll still ride the Huffy around this area. But if I leave this area for longer rides that don't just zig-zag around the same streets, I'm taking the Schwinn. Really excited, as I've been eyeing this Scwhinn ever since I got the Huffy and found that I can ride it with no detriment to my spinal column. I really want to "degrade" my mtn bikes into upright bikes, but... I just couldn't stop thinking about this Schwhinn. I'm obssessed! :O

Ok... for now.... 🚲
